Junior – Quarterback – Ohio State – 6-3 – 225
Fields can do it all. He’s got really good arm strength and can make all the throws. He’s got great speed for a QB and is capable of making big plays with his legs. And he generally makes good decisions with the ball (only 3 interceptions as a sophomore, compared to 41 touchdowns).
Does a nice job of sensing the rush and sliding up in the pocket – can make throws under pressure and isn’t afraid to take a hit. Knows when to take off running, although sometimes he holds the ball too long and takes the sack, when he needs to just throw it away.
Scouts are a bit mixed on Fields, with many projecting him to be a top 5 pick, while others aren’t yet sold on his talents. He’s got plenty of weapons to throw to and should put up big numbers as a junior and will likely declare for the 2021 draft.
